NMT is problem-solving bodywork. Nicole Urell specializes in treating headache, TMJD, neck pain, and a range of shoulder issues with neuromuscular therapies and orthopedic massage.
Nicole is a certified Stretch and Flexibility Coach and Pilates Instructor with experience teaching yoga, breathwork, and somatic exercise, helping chronic pain beyond the neck and shoulders with a functional, restorative movement approach.
Support whole-body balance and reduce chronic pain with a range of neuromuscular therapies for mobility, stability and fitness.
Frequently treated upper extremity issues:
- Tension type headache
- Secondary headaches / migraine
- Neck Pain
- Whiplash
- Nerve impingement
- Thoracic outlet syndrome
- Frozen shoulder
- Chronic shoulder pain
- Rotator cuff issues
- Frozen shoulder syndrome
- Symptoms of arthritis / stenosis
- Breathing pattern problems
- Mind-body care for tension, stress, anxiety
- Some physical effects of long illness
- TMJ disorders (more info on Intra-oral Trigger Point Therapy here)
Blending NMT, orthopedic massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, cranial sacral therapy, and neuromuscular re-education, sessions are highly focused while also including broader strategies for regional and whole-body muscle balance. Postural and other targeted assessments help identify soft-tissue issues, often missing links in chronic, sub-clinical, or complex pain cases. A core element of NMT is evaluating perpetuating factors - such as lifestyle, posture, work habits, and stress - and developing self-care strategies that improve both pain symptoms and their underlying causes.

- Hip pain / arthritis / ITB syndrome
