Nicole Urell has been providing results-focused bodywork including Neuromuscular Therapies and Orthopedic Massage in greater Boston since 2003.
Education and training:
Nicole began her training at the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge. She continued her bodywork education in orthopedic massage and NeuroMuscular Therapy. Nicole holds a BA in Holistic Psychology from Lesley University. Studies at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health include training in Thai Yoga Massage and Integrated Positional Release. Nicole's movement oriented training includes NeuroMuscular ReEducation with Dr. Peter Levy, Active Isolated Stretching, and Pilates, yoga and corrective exercise.
She is a certified Precision Neuromuscular Therapist and Manual Trigger Point Therapist.
Nicole was a teaching assistant for Orthopedic Yoga, a YTT-500 yoga certification with Peter Benjamin and Michelle Fleming, helping teach anatomy, pathology and injury prevention to yoga instructors.
She has taken seminars in the Benjamin System of Orthopedic Massage with Ben and Peter Benjamin. Studies in Myoskeletal Alignment Technique also influence her practice.
Nicole's goal is to provide evidence-based modalities to help problem-solve myofascial pain, injury, and mobility issues.
Nicole began her career at Massage Therapy Works in Davis Square and the Mount Auburn Club spa. She opened her private practice in Cambridge, MA in 2013 and recently relocated to Belmont, MA.
